Richard’s story

Recession hit Richard’s work as a builder. Then he couldn’t keep up with mortgage repayments. Before he knew it, Richard was sleeping on a park bench. He hit rock bottom.

Even after Richard secured a council house, he couldn’t afford a chair or even a bed.

When Richard got in touch with CAP, the local church team immediately helped provide food and furniture. Then they sorted out Richard’s paperwork. Our expert debt team dealt with his finances.

Local Christians prayed with Richard, and he had a powerful experience of God’s love.

I couldn’t stop the tears flowing from my eyes. My life turned around – and I ain’t done it on my own. Jesus has been there for me. Now all I want to do is live!
