Supporters eat for £14 a week and donate the extra to CAP!

CAP supporters, Matt Churchill and Hannah Smith have set themselves an innovative challenge – to set their food budget at £14 each per week. They are doing this to experience the reality that the people CAP helps are facing. Life on a tight budget isn't easy but Matt and Hannah are determined to make their budget work so that they can donate the money they save to CAP – wow!

Matt and Hannah's other commitment is to eat well on their tiny budget – fresh, healthy food – to prove it is possible. They are sharing their fantastic recipes, along with hints, tips and general friendliness on their blog:

The weight of debt gone, Ray and Patti felt free to get married at last!

The weight of debt gone, Ray and Patti felt free to get married at last!

We were honoured to have Ray and Patti Penn come all the way from Tees Valley to Bradford to celebrate their marriage. They handed favours out to all our staff to say a big thank you for helping them on their way to becoming debt free. Congratulations from all at CAP HQ! Ray told us,

'We had so much debt between us and we didn't want to get married until it was sorted. We didn't want it hanging over our heads. I had met Patti at a time when I had a great job. But then my health deteriorated suddenly. You have credit cards, borrow more and then things change and it spirals.'

Our staff were so touched to receive little packs of Love Heart sweets as we listened to Patti tell us,

'To find out an organisation can help you for free was amazing. CAP has been great from the very start, we really couldn't ask for better! Now we're in the final stages of becoming debt free and it's exciting to think we've just got married and it's a new start financially. We used some of the savings in our CAP Plan and had a family wedding. It was a glorious day and we had cups of tea and pizza in the park. We wanted to come to CAP and thank everyone personally because without their help, we couldn't have done it.'

We’re looking for a Systems Developer

We’re looking for a Systems Developer

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to work in a life changing, compassionate and faith-filled organisation? We're looking for people who have a heart for the poor and the right skills to help them.

As CAP continues to grow as a ministry, there is a constant need to develop further IT-based systems to enable that growth, and to constantly modify and update all existing systems. We're looking for someone to develop high-quality, IT-based systems that will enable effective external and internal communication and will enhance CAP’s existing business development.

You'll need excellent knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML & Linux, as well as good communication and time management skills. We need someone with the ability to work in a multi-platform environment, who also has a heart for UK poverty issues.
