CAP’s London bound for awards ceremony!

Today Matt, John and a team from CAP's Head Office are headed down to the 2014 Charity Times Awards Gala Dinner and Ceremony in London. Christians Against Poverty has been shortlisted to receive two awards this year and tonight we will find out who has won.

The first award we are shortlisted for is ‘Charity of the Year: with an income of £5million - £10million’. This is in recognition of our efforts to expand our debt help service, which now reaches over 260 local communities across the UK, and for the launch of our new initiative CAP Job Clubs (now with over 90 clubs). It also acknowledges our continued efforts to make all our processes as efficient as possible helping us to deliver the best service to those with the very least.

The second award we are shortlisted to receive is ‘Fundraising Team of Year’, in response to our campaign sponsoring Big Church Day Out last year. Through this campaign 1,000 people become Life Changers through our regular giving programme. It was already a huge encouragement to see so many people committed to support our work to break the burden of debt and poverty, so to have the fundraising campaign acknowledged is simply an added bonus!

We are looking forward to hearing the results tonight!

CAP Job Clubs hit 100!

calendar17 October 2014

This weekend, we trained up around 60 people who will open our 21 new CAP Job Clubs around the country. From Kirkcaldy down to London, these 21 new clubs take our total coverage up to 101 locations around the UK!

We're thrilled to have reached this milestone less than two years after pioneering this service because we know it represents so many more people who will be helped back into employment. Since we opened our first CAP Job Clubs in March 2013, one in seven of our club members have found work.

It’s a Money Coach invasion!

Saturday 27 September sees our Bradford HQ filled with CAP Money Coaches from all over the UK. Our annual CAP Money Course Conference is a precious time for Money Coaches to gather together and share encouragement about their experiences of running the CAP Money Course.

This year's conference theme is 'Course. Community. Kingdom.' and explores the different ways that churches can maximise the impact of the CAP Money Course in their local area.

If you're coming to the conference, you're in for a fantastic time – we can't wait to see you!

Find out more about how your church could run the CAP Money Course and teach people how to budget, save and spend wisely.

Vote now - CAP up for two awards!

We are excited to have been selected as a finalist for not one, but two awards in the Christian New Media Awards 2014! These awards recognise the positive contribution of the Christian community online through websites, blogs, social media and apps.

The first award CAP could win is 'Best Christian Organisation Website', which recognises a website that 'clearly communicates the organisation's message and engages their audience'. We hope you all agree that this sums up what the CAP website does for you!

The second award is the one we need your help to win! It's the 'People's Choice' award and is decided by votes from all of you! Please vote for CAP today and help us make it to the top! Once you've voted, be sure to tell all your friends and family too!
