CAP shows the UK the full effects of living with fuel poverty

We have a new report out today showing that fuel poverty isn't just about heating. In fact a quarter of our clients said that before getting CAP's help, they were struggling to cook hot food. One in seven said they couldn't afford to wash their clothes and other said they had no hot water to wash themselves. Read the press release by clicking here

100 days to Christmas

On September 16 it is 100 days until Christmas, which means just four pay days left!

But we don’t want you to panic! Hundreds of churches are all ready to run free CAP Money Courses to help people save for a stress-free festive spend.

The CAP Money Course is for anyone who'd like to get more in control of their finances, so they can budget, save and prevent debt. Why not book yourself onto a CAP Money Course, or recommend it to your friends? Click here to find a course near you.

You can also help us spread the word through social media with #100daystillChristmas as a reminder for people to plan now and avoid credit later.

Archbishop of Canterbury visits CAP Centre

Archbishop of Canterbury visits CAP Centre

We're really excited that Justin Welby is visiting our Bristol North CAP debt centre today as part of his tour of Bristol Diocese. He'll be having a cuppa and chat with Sian Hearsey, the Centre Manager there, and listening to the experiences of two of the clients she's helped. We know that poverty is high on the Archbishop's agenda and that the Anglican church is very active in partnering with CAP so we're particularly pleased that he's taking time out to hear more about our work.

World Suicide Prevention Day

World Suicide Prevention Day

It's shocking but more than a third of people who first call CAP for help are feeling suicidal. Hounded by creditors and worn down by grinding poverty, they feel so desperate and yet, we know that hope is just around the corner. They may feel that it's the end of the road but we know it is the beginning of their debt free journey! There is so much care and support waiting for them and we've never yet found a case we can't deal with. Today, September 10, we're making a big fuss to say there is hope when you ask for help.
