We’re looking for a Systems Developer

Do you ever wonder what it would be like to work in a life changing, compassionate and faith-filled organisation? We're looking for people who have a heart for the poor and the right skills to help them.

As CAP continues to grow as a ministry, there is a constant need to develop further IT-based systems to enable that growth, and to constantly modify and update all existing systems. We're looking for someone to develop high-quality, IT-based systems that will enable effective external and internal communication and will enhance CAP’s existing business development.

You'll need excellent knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML & Linux, as well as good communication and time management skills. We need someone with the ability to work in a multi-platform environment, who also has a heart for UK poverty issues.

Today we're celebrating you!

Without our Life Changers (regular givers) CAP simply would not exist. Thanks to your support over the years we have changed thousands of lives and thousands have made the decision to follow Christ.

This month we hit a major milestone - 20,000 Life Changers! 20,000 people who love the local church and it's mission to help the poorest and most vulnerable in society. So today we're celebrating our Life Changers and all they contribute to lives being changed every day. You can find out more here.

CAP Caseworker Finalist in Debt Counsellor of the Year

We're thrilled that Katie Pickering (a CAP Debt Help Caseworker) was selected as a finalist for Debt Counsellor of the year at the Credit Today Awards 2013. Here's some of the great things clients and colleagues had to say about her:

'Katie personifies CAP's desire to care for clients as whole people and not just numbers. She shows a real compassion for the clients she works with being concerned as to how debt counselling decisions, and clients difficult financial circumstances impact our client's day-to-day lives.' - Stephen Roberts, Senior Team Manager, Client Services

'Hi Katie, I just wanted to say a big thank you for your help and support over the last four months since you became our caseworker. Dealing with debt and dealing with creditors is scary at times and you’ve been very professional and helpful and friendly. Thank you very much.' - Katie's Client

'I just wanted to say a massive thank you for your help over this last year. You are a superstar and you have always been really helpful and understanding.' - Katie's Client

Wounded soldier to complete sponsored swim for CAP

Wounded soldier to complete sponsored swim for CAP

Corporal Phill Taber of the Royal Engineers received gunshot wounds to both legs in 2010 whilst serving in Afghanistan. Since then he has had to over come numerous operations and undertaken hours of rehabilitation, to regain the reasonable use of his legs. When Phill contacted us to share his plans to raise money for CAP, we were inspired by his determination.

'This year, after being inspired by the valuable work carried out by CAP, I am going to try and swim a mile in the Great North Swim. I will only be using my arms when in the water due to my injuries, making this an even bigger challenge.' – Phill

If you would like to sponsor Phill, visit his JustGiving page.

What could you do this year to join Phill and raise money for CAP? Choose your challenge now.
