Today Gordon Brown MP officially opened a local church's CAP café in Kirkcaldy.
Run by CAP Centre Manager Pat Hanson, the Whytescauseway Baptist Church café acts as a drop-in for CAP clients and local residents to receive subsidised hot meals, and practical help with their paperwork. There is also the opportunity for people to find out more about Christians Against Poverty and how to access free CAP Debt Help.
Also at the launch event was Cllr. Judy Hamilton, Cllr. George Kay and several CAP clients. After declaring the official opening of the café, Rt Hon Mr Brown thanked the CAP clients for sharing their personal stories of struggles with debt, and gave his best wishes to the church's initiative for their CAP clients.
The café will be open every Thursday from 11.30am to 2pm at Whytescauseway Baptist Church, Kirkcaldy.
