As part of their ongoing work to improve outcomes for prepayment (PPM) customers, Ofgem is proposing to take action to reduce the impact of charges when a PPM is installed under warrant. The proposals show particular concern for customers in vulnerable situations and are welcome. We have responded to show support for the proposals but to highlight our concerns about whether smart meters will bring the resolution Ofgem predict and that the proposals do not address the wider issues affecting prepayment customers.
