‘I just felt so free, I found joy and peace - and that was Jesus. And so I gave my life to Jesus fully that day.’

Estranged from her family and fleeing domestic violence, Abigail found herself hiding in a refuge with her three-year-old son. She had nothing but the mountain of debt her ex-husband had accumulated. Abigail had no family to turn to, no place to call home, and no way out.

Here at CAP we’re passionate about releasing people just like Abigail from crippling debt and poverty. CAP’s Debt Centres are based in churches across the UK, meaning dedicated Christians are on hand to offer support and friendship that goes way beyond just debt help.

After getting in touch with CAP, Abigail started to feel like there was hope. There was a solution to her debt. But becoming debt free was just the beginning.

Abigail and her son were able to go on a Discovery Break, a few days away with other CAP clients to breathe and have fun. With the space she needed to forgive those who had hurt her, Abigail felt peace like never before – it was Jesus. She gave her life fully to him.

Christians Against Poverty sees ten people become debt free and three respond to Jesus every working day.

Will you give just £10 a month to see someone like Abigail start their journey towards a future full of family, faith and joy?

‘It was too much to cope with. I was deeply depressed and had a lot of panic attacks. Life was overwhelming.’
