Senior Technical Specialist - IT
Location: CAP, Jubilee Mill, North Street, Bradford, BD1 4EW
Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:45am - 5:00pm
Context: The IT team are an essential part of CAP’s support services, enabling the critical work of CAP in the UK, and in other countries. Our role is to strategically develop technology solutions that respond to the changing needs of CAP and the opportunities in the wider IT environment. Once systems are in use we provide generous support and training of CAP’s head office staff and wider user community.
Role: This is a key role, connecting our IT Operations and Systems Development departments, working closely with the Senior IT Support Specialists and the Systems Developers.You will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance and performance of critical MySQL/MongoDB databases and hosted server environments to ensure the consistent performance of our in-house applications.We are a dynamic organisation and occasionally need new environments spun up at short notice, whilst maintaining security and resilience. A good understanding of cloud and dedicated hosting technologies and of backup and disaster recovery strategies is key to this role. We operate in a predominantly OpenSource environment, so knowledge of our OpenSource software and tools would also be advantageous (e.g. Ubuntu/Debian Linux; Apache/NGINX; PHP; MongoDB).

Salary: £28,864 - £31,992 depending on experience
