Energy Grants Adviser (3 Year Fixed Term) - External Relations
Location: CAP, Jubilee Mill, North Street, Bradford, BD1 4EW
Hours: Mon - Fri (8:45am - 5:00pm) 37.5 hours per week
Context: Reporting to the Director of External Affairs the team are responsible for building relationships with creditors, referral agencies, trust funds and other external organisations and they work to create referrals and raise CAP’s profile.
Role: The role of the Energy Grants Officer is a new role. The role is a fixed post for three-years with the potential to continue subject to the success of the role and available funding.The role of the Energy Grants Officer is to gain an in depth knowledge of the energy trust funds and to build relationship with them so that they have a good understanding of each individual companies application criteria and the benefits that are available from that fund. Following on from this initial period of learning they will then create a database of energy trust fund information that caseworkers and frontline CAP workers can access.Once the database is established the role will include maintenance of the database and also training Client Services and frontline CAP centre staff to use it so that they can complete applications on behalf of CAP clients. They will also promote the use of the database across all CAP’s Services.The role will also include learning about prepayment and smart meters and how they work, including how to switch a client’s payment method and energy tariff. It will also include gaining an understanding of energy efficiency schemes.Monitoring of use of the database and applications made for trust funding will form a key part of measuring the success of this role.The Role Holder will need to be flexible to change and we may need to make changes to the role profile as the role develops.

Starting salary: £19,040
