Our work is founded on prayer; as a charity we have time set aside in our working day for it and we acknowledge that we can do no worthy thing without God on board.

We would love you to join us in prayer – this page will be regularly updated with situations that need prayer. You can also receive our quarterly prayer diary though the post or receive weekly text alerts with a client's prayer need.

Thank you for supporting our work and vision through your prayers and faithfulness.

Upcoming fundraising dinners and new centre staff

calendar07 October 2016

As CAP hosts a fundraising dinner in Belfast this weekend, we ask that you would pray for an outpouring of generosity from all who attend as they grow deeper in their understanding of CAP's work and witness God's heart in the centre of it. Currently there are 22 active CAP centres in Northern Ireland - with faith and a little push, we believe this could grow and result in the lives of many more families being transformed in that area and across the rest of the UK. Please keep this in your heart as your pray over the next week.

Similarly, we are in the process of sending out invitations for our London fundraising dinner in November. Please pray your blessing over those invitations as they go out; that each recipient would be encouraged to come along to this wonderful event.

Finally, this week head office welcomed 87 new centre staff training to expand our work to even more parts of the nation. Your prayers would be appreciated as they now go home with lots of new information to process and a real passion to make changes in their communities.

Thanks as always for praying.

Free 20-day devotional

calendar30 September 2016

Yesterday we opened orders for our free 20-day devotional, a collection of messages written by CAP staff, clients, friends and church leaders, with a foreword by our patron, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

Please pray that as our supporters read each devotional, their understanding of God's heart for the poor would be deepened and they would gain a real insight into what drives our passion to see lives transformed.

If you would like to be guided in prayer with an inspiring devotional each morning for 20 days, you can order your copy at

Life Changer challenge

calendar23 September 2016

At CAP head office, we're in the middle of our bi-annual Life Changer challenge, which means staff across the board are going all out to encourage new people to sign up as regular givers or existing Life Changers to consider increasing their gift, as well as inviting people to the upcoming Life Changer dinner in Bradford and fundraising dinner in London.

Some have taken part several times over the years and some are just getting a taste; either way, these kinds of asks are always a challenge, albeit vital to the continuing success of this life-transforming organisation.

Please pray both for those asking and for those being asked, that God will fill their hearts will boldness and generosity over the course of the next week and beyond.

Upcoming events

calendar16 September 2016

Over the next few weeks, CAP has a variety of events going on all over the country, and each one needs God's hand on it. This Saturday, there's the York Choral Evensong at York Minster, following by a fundraising dinner at York Racecourse, both of which could prompt some new, invaluable CAP supporters. Then, on Saturday 30 September, both Wales and Bradford will be getting the CAP treatment with a fundraising dinner and the Life Changer dinner respectively. The Life Changer dinner will be filled with people who are as yet unfamiliar with the work of this organisation, so please pray that each and every one of them will be inspired by the evening and perhaps even make the decision to help transform lives themselves.

A Busy Week

calendar23 August 2016

There's a lot happening at CAP this week, and we'd really appreciate your prayers for it all. About a hundred of our clients are currently on one of our Discovery Breaks - a much-needed free holiday. For many of them this will be the first holiday they have been able to go on with their families for a very long time, and we hope it refreshes them and that they connect with the people there to make new friendships.

Meanwhile, in Scotland we are training up some new speakers on Friday. They will then be going out and telling people the inspiring stories we get to hear every day, of clients going debt free, finding work or beating their addictions. They'll be trying to convey some of the excitement we feel at the prospect of turning someone's life around!

Finally, we're off to One Event in Lincolnshire to meet some new faces and get the church inspired about what we do. One of our amazing clients will be sharing their story live as well, so please pray for confidence and that they really enjoy the experience!

There’s more to Christmas than more spending

Christmas doesn’t have to be a race to collect the largest pile of stuff and spend the most money, if you don’t let it.
