Pray with us

'I was hungry and you gave me something to eat... Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

Our work is founded on prayer; as a charity we have time set aside in our working day for it and we acknowledge that we can do no worthy thing without God on board.

We would love you to join us in prayer – this page will be regularly updated with situations that need prayer. You can also receive our quarterly prayer diary though the post or receive weekly text alerts with a client's prayer need.

Thank you for supporting our work and vision through your prayers and faithfulness.

Client Open Days

calendar23 May 2016

This week we are holding Open Days for our wonderful clients: one at CAP's head office in Bradford and one in London. This is an opportunity for clients to find out more about the charity, to hear John Kirkby's story firsthand and to meet other people in the same situation as them. Please pray for all our guests on these open days!

Mental Health Awareness Week

calendar16 May 2016

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. We know that debt and mental health affect one another, so we're campaigning for greater awareness around these issues. Please pray this week for all our clients who struggle with their mental health. And keep an eye out on social media this week for everything we're working on around this topic #MHAW16

Thy Kingdom Come

calendar09 May 2016

We're having an extended day of prayer today at CAP's head office! In the prayer room we have been praying for:

  • An end to poverty in the UK. This is a big vision, but God can do huge and incredible things!
  • Our amazing clients - we want to bring them hope and help, and to see their lives get totally transformed!
  • The funds we need to raise this year to continue our work. It costs money to run a job club or get someone out of debt, and we don't want finances to be an obstacle to helping people.

Will you pray with us?

United

calendar05 May 2016

Today kicks off a week of regional gatherings with church leaders to share the exciting news of how the local church is tackling poverty in the UK. Today, we're in Edinburgh for the first United conference. Please pray for all the church leaders who are travelling to be at these events, and for the amazing clients who are sharing their stories of how their lives have been transformed.

Pray for our job club members

calendar26 April 2016

CAP has 145 job clubs around the UK helping people take vital steps towards employment. Please pray for everyone who is a member of one of these job clubs: that they would grow in confidence, that they'd learn new skills through the course that job clubs run, and that each person would find a job that's right for them.

Last year 674 people found work through CAP Job Clubs. Let's pray the number is even higher in 2016!
