Selection day

Are you ready for selection day?

It’s going to be a fantastic day with a chance to get to know one another better and for you to get a taste for how CAP in Scotland works. During the day you’ll also get to meet several other potential service managers and debt coaches working in the same capacity as you – a great opportunity to share tips!

For specific date and times, please check the emails we’ve sent you.

How to find us

The selection day will take place at our regional office in Glasgow. The full address is:

Robertson House
152 Bath Street
Glasgow
G2 4TB

Parking is available right across the road via Q-Park.

If you’re travelling by train, the nearest stations are Glasgow Queen Street and Central Station, both no more than a ten minute walk from the office.

Who’s the person to contact?

Our Scottish Development Manager, Iain Campbell, will be your point of contact on arrival and can be reached on 07449176913 on the day.

What will be happening throughout the day?

Depending on timings, we aim to either finish or start our selection days with lunch (usually a selection of quality sandwiches and snacks).

The day will also include:

1.
A general meet and greet and ice breaker session (with plenty of tea and coffee!)
2.
An outline of the basic expectations for running CAP services
3.
Individual interviews*
4.
Group time (for chatting, getting to know one another and sharing tips – very important!)
5.
Q&A session

*During the interview you’ll be doing a five minute presentation on a topic of your choosing (this is a chance for you to demonstrate how you present and sell something in a formal setting). It’s best to decide on your topic and prepare for this beforehand. We’ll also be asking questions in specific areas such as communication, character, leadership, administration, boundaries and IT, as well as about your evangelistic experience and examples of where you’ve shared your faith with others – please have a think about anything in particular you’d like to say in advance.

If you’ve got any questions, please just give the selection team a call on 01274 760797.

What happens if I’m successful at the selection day?

Hooray! You’re moving on up! If you’re successful on selection day, you’ll be invited to attend compulsory residential training in Bradford. For further details on dates, please check your confirmation email or give our team a call on 01274 760797.
