Some struggles are invisible

Restore real connection for someone who needs a friend at their side

Your monthly gift will help others like Wendy connect to the church-based, face-to-face support they vitally need.

People who face extra barriers to support deserve something better than a one-size-fits-all approach. We, like you, believe in recognising each person as a unique individual, loved by God.

Our tailored, in-person support means local churches can walk alongside those who otherwise might be left disconnected. It’s not about quick fixes or one-off interventions, but rather the consistent care of walking with someone for the whole journey.

And this is only possible thanks to regular monthly gifts from supporters like you.

Wendy’s story

Neurodiversity is just one reason why people may face invisible barriers to accessing support. This is why it’s so important that churches partnering with CAP are stepping up to provide the personalised long-term support that only they can provide.

For Wendy, the combination of being autistic and having ADHD meant that organising bills and paying off her debts were tasks that left her completely overwhelmed.

I really needed someone to sit down with me, because I’d end up panicking when I looked at my bills.

Wendy knew she’d need in-person help to get back on top of her money troubles. Remote or online support was not enough. She needed to sit face-to-face with someone who’d take the time to understand her struggles, who could walk her through the tasks she found most difficult because of her ADHD, like filling out forms and setting up Direct Debits, and who would stick by her side through the ongoing process of becoming debt free.

Other organisations that do debt help, it’s all online or over the phone. That makes me more flustered – I needed someone there with me.

Today, one simple action from you can connect someone like Wendy to the in-person help they need. By giving a monthly gift to CAP, you’re choosing not to leave anyone to face debt and poverty alone.

Our local workers go above and beyond for their clients, offering so much more than financial help. This can include connecting them to a welcoming community and giving pastoral support: aspects which our clients tell us make a huge impact on their lives.

Lizzie introduced me to a discipleship course. I had a revelation that God loves me exactly as I am.

Becoming debt free on a plan like Wendy’s is a journey that takes time. She’s one year in, with about three years to go — her story isn’t over yet. Will you help us stay by her side — and by others like her — for the whole journey, by setting up a monthly gift today?
