CAP through 2023–2024: an overview

It’s been an important period of transition for CAP over the 15 months up to 31 March 2024. During late 2022, the economy took a rapid downturn and things became much tougher for our clients and partner churches. This downturn, coupled with inflation and rising interest rates, fuelled a cost of living crisis that created a rapid spike in the needs of the people we help.

But in the midst of it all, Christians Against Poverty made a difference, thanks to every supporter, church, volunteer, staff member and friend of CAP who turned belief into action.

Thousands of people were supported by CAP’s accredited debt advice service and specialist tools, with over 3,000 people becoming debt free and at least 103 responding to Jesus for the first time.

Together we continue to go forward with trust and hope, driving change for people in desperate need. Together, we will see transformed lives, a thriving church and an end to UK poverty.

The real people behind the numbers

Bea, who became debt free through CAP in 2024

Behind every number in our annual report, there are stories of real people whose lives are changing. People like Bea, who says that the help she got from CAP through her local church gave her hope.

I’d lost all hope. CAP and Hope Central were like the sun coming out after the rain.’

You’ll find Bea’s story along with many others in our 2023–2024 annual report.
