What is a Crumble Party?

Ready to bring people together for a sweet cause? A CAP Crumble Party is your chance to host a cosy gathering—whether it’s a living room get-together, an office lunch break, or a post-church treat—where delicious crumble meets real community impact.

You pick the venue, whip up your favourite crumble (or set up a legendary DIY toppings bar with custard, cream, and ice cream), and invite your friends to dig in. It’s simple, delicious, and best of all, every slice served helps local churches bring hope, dignity, and financial freedom to families facing hardship across the UK.

Let’s get ready to crumble!

Signing up couldn’t be easier! Just fill out the short form on the link below and we’ll send you everything you need to get started, including your free host guide, promotional resources and handy tips for a fantastic event.

Step 1: Set the scene

Pick a venue, date, and time that work best for you. Gather a few helpers if you’re hosting a bigger crowd, and use your free promotional resources to spread the word.

Step 2: Plan your menu

Decide whether you’re baking yourself or inviting others to bring a crumble, and put any surplus garden or allotment fruit to good use!

Step 3: Host with heart

Spruce up your space with your CAP table centrepieces, baking flags and bunting. Take a moment during the event to share a few words about CAP and invite guests to donate.

Step 4: Hang up your oven gloves

Pay in any funds raised, grab a cuppa and put your feet up. Celebrate the real hope and freedom you’ve helped bring to families across the UK.

How a slice of crumble brings real hope: Angela’s story

When sudden sight loss forced Angela to stop working, followed closely by her husband’s redundancy, her family faced an overwhelming financial crisis. Struggling to buy basic essentials, like new shoes for her son, and facing the scary prospect of losing their home, Angela turned to her local CAP debt centre for help.

The team tailored the support to Angela’s needs, showing the real impact of compassionate, in-person help. After four years, Angela’s family became completely debt-free through a repayment plan. Today, she’s giving back as a CAP befriender, bringing that same hope to others in her community.

When we finally became debt free, it was so joyful – you want to shout from the rooftop, especially after four and a half years!
