Ten Christian prayers for safe travels

Lord, you know how uneasy I feel about flying. My mind races with ​‘what ifs’ and my body fills with fear. But you’re greater than turbulence, weather or altitude. You’re an all powerful God. Please calm my nerves and remind me that I’m always held in your loving, strong hands. Let each takeoff and landing be a reminder that you go before me and keep me steady. Amen.

Father, thank you for the gift of being able to travel with my children. Give me patience when things get chaotic, energy when I feel worn out and joy in the memories we get to share and cherish together. Please keep us safe and let my kids have a holiday that they’ll remember when they grow up. Help me lead with love and grace, even in the little frustrations. Amen.

Lord, I’m not going on a holiday, but fulfilling your mission that your son, Jesus, set out to do: to bring the hope and love of God to the world. God, when things don’t go according to plan, remind me that you’re still in control of everything. You hold the whole world in the palm of your hands. Give me patience if I experience delays, grace when I feel overwhelmed and a sense of humour when things feel frustrating. Let any setbacks or changes draw me closer to you.
