A prayer for 30 years of CAP

Older male stood outside smiling at the camera, with green fields behind him.
A prayer for 30 years of CAP, from CAP’s founder, John Kirkby CBE.

Lord God,

It was your Church that introduced me to Jesus and created a community in which I could rebuild my shattered life, three decades ago. Christians Against Poverty was birthed from that as I responded to your call on my life.

Today, as I reflect on 30 years of this movement, I continue to give all glory to you, who is able to do more than we could ever hope or imagine through your power at work in us.

My support for CAP and the life-changing work of local churches doesn’t stop, and my prayer remains the same: may more and more shattered lives be restored as churches across the UK share practical support and the good news of your son, Jesus.

May the workers be many and the harvest be great.

Amen.
