Why choose to run a marathon for charity?

Marathons are popular charity challenges because they push you further than most running events. For lots of runners, having a cause to run for gives you extra motivation through the long training runs and the toughest miles on race day.

Running a marathon for CAP gives your challenge real purpose beyond the finish line.

Martin’s Loch Ness marathon story

It was such an adventure doing the Loch Ness marathon for CAP — it was a long journey both physically and mentally! I’d done marathons before quite a bit but that was a long time ago so I definitely needed to put some hard work in to complete it. It was a great atmosphere though and lovely surroundings and I had a real sense of accomplishment after I’d done it. I loved doing it to raise money for CAP. On the start line, a man approached me because he’d heard of CAP so that felt great.’

It was a really good opportunity not only to raise money but to demonstrate to friends and family and professional contacts that CAP is really important to me.
