CAP through 2022: an overview

2022 was an exceptionally challenging year for CAP. While the cost of living crisis increased demand for our services and hit our own finances as an organisation.

But in the midst of it all, Christians Against Poverty made a difference, thanks to every supporter, church, volunteer, staff member and friend of CAP who turned belief into action.

Thousands of people were supported by CAP’s accredited debt advice service and specialist tools, with almost 2,000 people becoming debt free and at least 240 responding to Jesus.

We also moved into our new head office, Jubilee House in Bradford, offering a more equipped and accessible workplace and saving an estimated £81,000 a year in running costs.

Together we continue to go forward with trust and hope, driving change for people in desperate need. Together, we will see transformed lives, a thriving church and an end to UK poverty.

The real people behind the numbers

Behind every number in our annual report, there are stories of real people whose lives are changing. People like Amanda, who says that the help she got from CAP saved her life.

When a CAP Debt Advisor phoned to tell me I was debt free, I literally danced around my living room!’ she explains. I have hope again. I’ve gone from wanting to die to really wanting to live.’

You’ll find Amanda’s story along with many others in our 2022 annual report.
