At Christians Against Poverty (CAP), we want to support and equip your UK-based church as you walk alongside your local community during the toughest storms.

Every day, local churches are reigniting hope and sharing the love of Jesus in action. We’re committed to ending UK poverty and the despair it brings, restoring all that it has stolen.

How can CAP help my church?

CAP provides churches with practical resources to bring hope to their local communities. We can equip churches in the UK to help people become debt free, manage their money, find employment or learn practical life skills. At the heart of it all is Jesus’ love, transforming thousands of lives every year through thriving churches.

Managers, Coaches, Befrienders and Church Leaders talk about running CAP services

David Job Club Coach: As a Christian, it’s really important for me that the church and myself is involved in helping people. We live in a time where many folk are actually experiencing severe poverty.

Davina Debt Coach: I saw a need in my community and I wanted to be part of their journey to help them see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Reverend Andy, Senior Minister: I think this is where the church has a great ability to step in—to help people who are in real need to be able to overcome the obstacles that they’re facing today.

David Job Club Coach: Jesus reached out to help the poor and the sick. He healed people, and as Christians, we’re called to do the same thing. So for me, that’s my motivation and that’s why I do it. And it’s a great joy.

Peter, Money Coach: It doesn’t matter if it looks absolutely hopeless. That’s what we’re here for.

Jane, Befriender: You can show God’s patience, God’s compassion, and his abounding love for people.

Jamie, Senior Pastor: We see a real value in CAP and the services they offer; they’re professional, they’re free for those who need them, and they’re doing it really well. So, we don’t want to reinvent the wheel; we’re not trying to do anything brand new. We just want to get on board with what God’s already doing and be part of the change!
