The open letter:
- Expresses concern about recent developments, and pitching a cross Government plan and action on waiting lists as key to a future direction of travel on mental health – not cuts to social security.
- Calls on the Government to implement a cross-departmental mental health strategy, aimed at identifying and addressing the causes of the growing national mental health crisis.
- Proposes a mental health strategy to address worsening illness and economic inactivity with the aim to join up thinking across education, online safety, health, welfare and other areas
