What is Talk Money Week?

Talk Money Week is an annual initiative that encourages people to participate in a range of events and activities happening across the country. The aim is to inspire more conversations about money. Whether it be sharing savings tips, learning how to manage your money or getting support with debt, Talk Money Week has something for everyone.

Talk Money Week is inclusive, designed both for adults and children. Everyone can take part and learn more about handling money.

When is Talk Money Week 2024?

Talk Money Week runs from 4 November‑8 November 2024 which is timely as Christmas looms and people are looking for savvy solutions to end the year in a positive financial position.

Resources, budget sheets and how to get help with debt are just some of the things that you can focus on this year.

What is the theme for Talk Money Week 2024?

The theme for Talk Money Week 2024 is do one thing’. This means being determined to identify at least one area that will increase your financial well-being. You can do this on your own or involve family and friends. Some ideas that could inspire you include:

  • Checking your bank statements to ensure you recognise all payments.

  • Using our benefits calculator to see if you’re receiving all benefits you are eligible for.

  • Talking to your children about money, like how to manage pocket money or savings.

  • Learning more about wills, pensions or other vital financial services.

How to get involved in Talk Money Week

There are various resources and support options for Talk Money Week and we have put a few together for you below with useful links to get you started. 

Each day, you can focus on a specific theme, such as budgeting or saving, and have conversations over lunch and dinner using the interactive tools.

Another idea could be to work with a close friend or family member. Pick a topic you want to feel more confident about, go through the resources together, and support each other along the way!
