CAP feeds into an inquiry into the funding and sustainability of local government finance

The view up over Ecclesall Road over Hunter Hill Road to Psalter Lane in Sheffield

CAP adds its voice to the Council Tax Collection Coalition’s* submission to the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee’s inquiry into the funding and sustainability of local government finance.

In this joint response, we raise concerns about current Council Tax debt collection rules and practices and make recommendations around the current system of debt collection and Council Tax support.

*The Council Tax Collection Coalition, a group of organisations which CAP are a part of, seeks to improve Council Tax collection practices for both residents and councils and to highlight the urgent need for reform.
