CAP has responded to the consultation on ECB Standards for Enforcement Work and Oversight Model

White door with pile of post at the bottom.

Christians Against Poverty’s (CAP) has provided feedback on the ECB’s draft standards for enforcement work. In this we emphasise the need for clearer definitions of accountability, fairness, and better handling of vulnerable clients, advocating for early identification and tailored enforcement approaches. CAP calls for stronger statutory powers, comprehensive training on vulnerability, more transparent sanctions, and improved communication with vulnerable individuals. As well as the importance of accessible complaint processes and consistent enforcement standards across all agencies.
