CAP informs the Scottish Government on improving administration within the social security system

CAP has submitted a response to the Scottish Government’s consultation on improving administration within Scotland’s social security system. 


We called for a number of reforms, including: greater flexibility in the eligibility of the Scottish Child Payment, improved client agency in the re-determination process, safeguards to prevent abuse by appointees, the ability to challenge liability of overpayments, and penalties for suspected fraud to be kept within the criminal justice process and not within fraud and error procedures within Social Security Scotland.
