CAP submits evidence on the Work and Pensions Committee call for evidence on cost of living support payments

Big ben clock tower against sky

CAP has submitted written evidence to the Work and Pensions Committee on the cost of living support payments. We welcomed the automated nature of the support, and the fact it also included those still in receipt of legacy benefits. However, we outlined the many ways in which this support was limited, including call to review the levels of social security against the minimum income standard to ensure they are adequate in meeting essential costs and ultimately prevent one-off payments like this being needed.
