CAP has submitted a response to the Social Market Foundation and Citizens Advice consultation on ‘Energy Bill Support — Designing policies to support British households in an age of high prices.’ The cost of energy has been unaffordable for low income households long before the cost of living crisis. In our response we ask that any newly designed support scheme is targeted at those who need it most, and that the main driver for support are interventions tackling affordability, rather than energy efficiency alone.
