Did you know?
Most energy providers understand that some of their customers need extra support to keep their homes warm and do this through their extra energy support schemes. You may also get support with your energy costs if you are eligible for the Priority Services Register.
Why is Energy Saving important?
With energy prices set to remain high well into the next few years, here at CAP our ask to the Government is for them to put in place long term and targeted support so that everyone can afford to keep warm and safe. Managing the cost of heating and lighting our homes takes up a huge chunk of our budget, so we hope sharing tips will come in handy.
Our top tips for saving on energy:
Shop around for the best deals. Use price comparison websites to shop around for the best deals from energy providers in your area
Keep an eye out for leaks. Small leaks can add up, so checking regularly can help keep your bills in check.
Insulate your home. Look for solutions such as sealing draughts to keep the warmth in and the cold out.
Invest in cosy essentials. Hot water bottles, thermal clothing, and electric blankets are great for staying warm without turning up the thermostat. Some energy companies will provide these for customers, it is worth checking company websites and contacting companies to see if you are eligible.
These little changes can make a big difference!
