Financial education - Centre for Social Justice call for evidence

A staggering nine out of ten UK consumers feel uneducated about personal finance. CAP responded to the Centre for Social Justice’s call for evidence to help shape a better understanding of what is needed to improve the low rates of financial literacy. The state of financial health is best understood through the lens of financial wellbeing, which considers both the structural and social factors that affect the state of an individual’s finances. There is a need for the Government to address both these factors when improving financial wellbeing, with consistent and comprehensive financial education playing a key role in this. Critically, individuals need financial education across all stages of their lifespan to maximise financial wellbeing. Read our full response below.
